boost guage!
boost guage!
hey guys, i was hooking up my boost guage among other things.... i need a spot to find the boost presssure. i need a spot for the meth/water kit, and a spot for the boost guage/hobbs switch (i can "t" off of the line for the hobbs). where do i put these lines?
I have heard of people using the EGR block off plates on the back of the intake for the hobbs switch. For my boost/vaccuum source, I spliced a vaccuum line into one of the ports (nipples) on the side of the intake.
which nipple do u use to sence the amount of boost? i have a few of them. my car is not running right now and i would like to hook these lines up. i cant hook a boost line into vaccum, isnt that opposite? im kinda lost on this little issue haha
Vacuum and boost are both a measure of the pressure in the intake manifold. Most of the time the intake is under vacuum as the pistons are sucking the air out of the intake manifold faster than the throttle body is supplying air. With a blown car, when you accelerate under load, the blower will provide more air than what the pistons can handle and you start to build pressure in the intake.
