Block Filler- when does it become a good idea?

Just curious, but at what horsepower level and/or boost level should a car be at to consider using a block filler?

It has little downside that I have seen. With the wimpy bottom end design of the SBC I'd say it's worth considering on any thing above the 600hp range. But many people don't do it. I doubt that anyone has ever quantified the benefit to a partial fill. However, it is SOP on race motors.

You wouldn't happen to know what the volume is of a "partial fill" would you? I don't wanna overdo it if I have to...or does the filler come with detailed instructions? Also, would you have any brands that you'd recommend to go with or stay away from??

Bottom of the freeze plug holes is where most people do it. Must be done prior to machining and allowed to fully set before any machining is done.
