Bigger throttle body

At what point do you guys up grade to a bigger throttle body?

I have a chance to buy a 52 mm throttle body for my set up (cam 224/236 114lsa, pd 6psi, super fueler, headers, stock heads)

Is it worth upgrading to a bigger throttle body at this point.

I, for one, don't think so. Up until now, I have been running the stock TB sucessfully. This year, I'm going bigger, but it's one of the last things to do on a blower motor. Spend the same amount on cleaning up the intake side of the blower and you will get much more "bang for the buck". If you've done that, and want to spend another $3-400, go for it.

Centrifugal blowers "hate" intake restrictions. Be sure there are no restrictions in front of the blower. These may be fairly subtle. For example, by simply replacing the corrugated "dryer hose" Vortech supplied with my S-trim with a smooth sheet metal piece (the famous "Brad Brand" intake pipe), the boost increased from 12 to 14psi with a gain of over thirty rwhp.

OK after doing some research, I found this:
Brad Brand
Atlanta Chassis Dyno
(770)623-9789
They're backed up about 14 units and it will be for about 3-6 months. Make that 15

More on-topic, I'm blown and plan on upgrading my TB after seeing how nice they are. My buddy is selling me a new BBK 58mm for $200.

You can always have a hard blower intake made locally or if you can weld do it yourself.

I went to home depot and replaced my Vortech corrugated with a few elbows and other pieces of black PVC pipe. It's real smooth internally and works great.

Excellent! Anyone else have a workable home fabbed replacement for the Vortech dryer hose?
