Glad to hear the AVCR works well but what do you think about a SAFC2. to control the amout of fuel according to boost. an SAFC is made by APEXi so i figure the universal will work like the AVCR did in a Camaro. the SAFC controls the injectors open time to increase fuel at set times.and it alters the MAF signal to keep the PCM from thinking that it is at 100%. i can't really explain it well but you can check it out on APEXi's web site and it will give you the complete run down.

I would just get a FAST/DFI 7 etc.

I agree. Before you go slapping your engine compartment (and credit cars) full of band aids like a fuel computer and low impedance injector converter box, just start with a clean slate like a FAST system and you'll never have to buy anything engine management related again.

.. and about the AVC-R being really complicated.. it is. But I guess if you don't use half of the functions it doesn't really matter. Also mine didn't display in anything but mm/Hg and bars IIRC which was kinda annoying. I don't have a turbo anymore but if I put one back in I would probably just get an old school manual controller for fewer variables.

I dont see the complexity everybody refers to.. I dont even have a manual(bought it used) and had no problem with setting it up. pretty straight forward, really only two variables.. duty cycle of the solenoid and the target boost pressure.

Then you can adjust it per RPM per gear.

i think its kinda cool it does mm/hg in vacuum instead of BAR. cause it would be teeny tiny values in BAR.

Wish Autometer made a boost gauge in BARs.

i need to step up to some real (delphi) gauges anyway

How does it know what gear you're in?
