Which ATI ProCharger to get?

I have an 88 IROC TPI flat top piston 355 TPI motor, 10.5:1 compression with thin head gaskets. I wanna supercharge it, so I'll be pulling the heads and using Pro Topline 72cc 200cc heads, or 180's, undecided as of yet since using stock cam. The motor has cast pistons and runs pump gas, runs 13.8's in its current state. I'm seeing a whole buncha different options for the ATI ProChargers, the one i'm lookin at costs $3000 at PerformanceSS.com part number 1GC211-12I described as "P600B-9or12psi with 2 core intercooler" - i'm looking to add about 120-150hp to replace the nitrous kit I just removed from the car. Will this kit be adequate or would it be reccomended to have the "D1-15 to 20psi with High Flow 3 core intercooler" model for $540 more? I've never run a blower before and it'd probably the best kick i can give to my daily driver.

What's the installation procedure like? Does everything seem to slide right into place on the Camaro TPI's or am I gonna be cussin alot and buying parts left n right to make it work or having to fabricate things? I'm guessing its a straight forward install. What is involved in tuning? I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, will this be enough? What comes with the ATI kit to allow tuning? Or do they assume that the MAF will compensate for the added air flow?

Thanks guys.

The D1 is a better blower than the P600.

the P1SC is a good blower too..... self contained. so no need for an extra oil line to be tapped into yer oil pan, comes with an intercooler as well.

great blower, we had those on several customers cars at the shop where i used to work....

I've got the P1SC unit with twin hi-flow innercoolers and I am very happy with it. My head unit is capable of producing up to 20 lbs. of boost. The D1 head can produce up to 30+ lbs. of boost. With the P1 unit, as stated above, does not require drilling oil lines, which is very nice. They give you oil made for the blower. Simple to change. And with that high of compression, I would really recommend a twin innercooler setup. Swapping your heads is a good idea to get the compression down. And if you do a cam swap, just make sure you get one with a 114 LSA or higher. But I am pushing almost 9 lbs. of boost on 10.5:1 compression with the twin innercoolers.

Installation is very time consuming. Saved over $1,000 by doing it myself. I have an LT1, and the entire kit, with both intercoolers and all the tubing, BARELY FIT! It's a pain in the ***! It took me 3 days to get it up and running properly. But we took our time. You will have more room to work with in a 3rd gen. Just be careful to keep the tubing clean of anyparticles that my get sucked up into the blower/engine. The only things I had to actually remove were the sway bar, the radiator fans, and the crank pulley.

Whichever blower you get, don't run too much boost until you get forged pistons. Cast pistons and blowers don't mix very well. I've had the P600B for awhile now (since 1995). It runs great, it's just kinda loud. At that time, ati didn't even have all the other blowers, P1, D1, F1 etc.
