Anyone out there with the double diamond subframe connectors, and the STS kit? STS indicates their kit is not really compatible with the double diamonds, but wanted to see if this is a big deal.

I don't have direct experience with this, but here are my thoughts.

The double diamonds eat up a couple of inches under the car. The sts kit would work but the pipes may have to be run lower. Meaning you may need a few bends to get it to curve under the connectors.

You can probably figure out the points where the pipe goes under them. Take a tape measure and see how much 2.5" or 3" (whatever sts runs) pipe will sag to clear them.

Depends on the year of the F body and such, but the pipe runs down the little "channel" near the rocker.

Mike,

Thanks. What is the size of that pipe? Also, do you have any profile shots of the underside of the car, with it on the ground?

Do you have headers? Looks like longtubes. What brand? Also, are you lowered, or stock ride height?

That's not my car, It's just a pic I found on Google.

The pipe is 2.25" though.

I built my own pipes for my STS kit so they're a bit different and higher clearance. My charge pipe runs down the tunnel till it gets to the transmission, then it kicks over to the driverside and goes over the K member along the engine, then off to the intercooler.
If you had to, you could always build your own center pipes in order to clear the bracing.

Mike,

Thanks again. What about your headers? Are they longtubes, and if so, what brand? How is the ground clearance on those babies?

Stock manifolds. Exhaust is all stock.
Headers probably wouldn't help with a rear mount turbo as the exhaust gas all gets mixed up anyway.

Mike any more pictures of your setup?

Where do you tap for the oil feed/return on the LT-1's?

Oil is taken from the 1/4" NPT plug in the block near the oil filter, and returned to the valve cover.

The STS kits return oil through the oil fill cap with a quick connector, so no modification is required.

I welded a 4AN fitting to my valve cover.

Thanks. Any more info on your build? Stock bottom end? Amount of Boost? Turbo Size?
