Anyone with ATI/ASP cog set up w/in

Well I got my custom ASP racing cog set up for my D1-SC and I ran into this snag.

as you can see the cog sits on the s/c case. If you flip the s/c cog over it is the same thing. If any of you LT1 or LS1 ATI guys have a cog set up made by ASPracing let me know how your s/c cog mounts on your s/c. I figure a spacer should've been included with this kit or the cog needed to be machined with a "neck" to achieve proper alignment with the idler pulley.
Thanks,
J

Wow that is really off. Did you call ASP about it?

Yep, I also sent him pics in his email, he is going to fix that. He made a couple prototypes and the people who got them didn't relay the info about how the cog sits, so he is going to make a spacer for it and send it to me after the holidays

Thumbs up

..............I hope the spacer he sends will be correct. I mean I hope he remembers to machine for the keyway on the shaft of the S/C and is of the correct hieght.

My knowledge base is strictly third gens, so I may be asking a stupid question. Why have someone fab cogs when ATI makes them?

I run a cog system on my '87 TPI with an F1. Although ATI does not make cog "kits" for F-bodies, they do make cogs for their blowers. The blower cog bolts on perfectly while my crank cog needed a custom fabbed adapter (by ASSC Racing). I run a 77-tooth crank and 34-tooth blower pullies on mine.

I have a couple cog blower pulley brand new since I made them. It is 8mm pitch and 2.931 in diameter, 1.400 wide, 30 teeths. I made it for my D1SC. Required no spacer. If you are interested let me know.

Wille, yep I know ATI makes cogs for their head units, but they don't make the LS1 crank COG at all, this piece is mandatory so getting them from ATI is not going to happen. Email ATI an ask for a cog set up for an LS1 F-body and they will tell you that they are slow to get an 8 rib to our market let alone a cog set up.
So I went with ASP for the whole set up, as have a few others in the LS1 crowd. With the 6 rib 3.2 and a 7.8in crank pulley I saw a max of 13psi before the boost nosedived to 9psi, damn the belt slip. The few LS1's that have a 8rib set up also run into this problem.
ASP will be fixing the problem, the kits they made before were in the prototype stage and they never recieved the feedback needed from the customer. A small set back but back on track.
Here are a few pics of the entire set up.

Bruce thank you for your offer can you post a pic of your s/c cog from the side.
Thanks,
Jeremy
