Question Any Pros and Cons with using Toluene?

I wanted to see if anyone has used this product and if there is any ill effects of using it. I had 2 friends that used this product in thier cars (a blown 97Z and a Audi S4). They both claim the car picked up a lot more ballZ but I wanted to know if there was any ill long term effects from using this product.

I have read that using High Octane Leaded Fuel works great for power but does damage your cats and O2 sensors.

Does Toluene do the same? Any Experience that you would like to share?

Thanks for any input,
Claude

I have tried both Toluene and Xylene, and like the Xylene better. It seems to suppress the knock better than Toluene. I did not notice any difference in power levels, other than what may be attributed to the reduced knock.

I have been using a mixture of 20% Xylene and 80% Premium gasoline for the last year, no ill effects as of yet. Take note however, Xylene is a very powerfull solvent and may cause deterioration of the soft parts of the fuel system ... don't use too much and you should be ok.

Toluene is not as harsh a solvent as Xylene.

Hope that helps

Xylene is 117, toulene is 114. I'd add in a few oz's of Marvel Mystery Oil with every tank, substitue ATF if you can't find MMO

Never used toulene, but have no complaints about xylene.

MMO can be found at just about any parts store, it lubricates the fuel system. Xylene is a paint thinner, so mmo compensates for it.
