ant dyno proof a 58mm is worth it?
Re: ant dyno proof a 58mm is worth it?
They did dyno a 95 camaro z28 with a vortech supercharger and 58 throttle body and got a extra 20rhwp. I cannot remeber the magazine it was in - But yeah there is defently a horsepower gain - Over a 52mm throttle body - I'm not sure if there would be a huge difference. Then again that dyno was over the stock 48mm - Mike
Re: ant dyno proof a 58mm is worth it?
Well if thats true, and we assume things work in proportion (which they may not) We could say 10mm increase produced 20rwhp then perhaps a 6mm incease would see 60% of such gain resulting in 12rwhp?
Again just some math work, but I think that it would be worth something.

It's actually not linearly proportion, but squared proportional. Basically, if going from 48 to 58 gets you 20 hp, then going from 48 to 52 gets you 7.5 hp.

what about 54mm?
(which coincidently, i have for sale)
no need too remove the intake too port match the openings either, comes without gasket (make a stock one work with a razor blade) but does include IAC housing

Jeezum, we're really splitting hairs. . .
48mm +0 hp
52mm +7.5 hp
54mm +11.5 hp
58mm +20 hp
This is making a ton of assumptions. Your engine would have to have the exact same airflow requirements as the one in the test, among other things.

Go to ws6.com under performance mods. I didnt see this particular question answered but there are a bunch of dyno tests to answer questions just like this. 1 that surprized me was how much of a dyno proven gain you get by bypassing the throttle body coolant line!
