Another turbo kit...
Another turbo kit...
I started fabbing up a stock exhaust manifold kit. Unfortunately the A/C gets deleted, but here are some pics showing some layout. The turbo is a garrett T67 rated for 750 fwhp. Opinions, questions, and comments welcome:

Re: Another turbo kit...
RealQuick, that's great! I plan to use the stock manifolds myself for my first turbo project later this year, and your pictures are looking promising!
Where/how do you plan to run the downpipe to the back? Does the turbo clear the stock cooling fans?
Thanks for sharing the pics, keep us updated!

I dont believe the turbo will clear. It wil be close. There area few options:
1. Stand the radiator/fans up slightly to clear
2. BUy either a slimmer puller fan or a pushfan for the othe side of the radiator
Re: Another turbo kit...
That looks like an awesome project, makes me wish I had a garage and more free time/money. Question re: manifolds - I hear that stock vette manifolds flow great, would those be a feasible replacement for the f-body manifolds in this application, and have you considered it? I'm guessing they're not the same dimensionally, but maybe close?

Just kidding... Jon built the hot parts that are mostly installed in my car. I won't give the price I paid for mine, but it was a lot more complicated layout (I'm keeping all accessories) and has a T76 bolted up to it. You won't be able to beat his pricing.

Re: Another turbo kit...
Yeah... I think you'd need 2 passenger side manifolds do it that way and keep AC. I wonder how many (if any) shorty header manufacturers would be interested in selling a set of 2 passenger side headers. The SLPs look like they'd be the best for clearance and plug access (from the bottom)
