About to make a turbo motor...
Re: About to make a turbo motor...
No, the stock ECU is destined for the trash can at 1,000rwhp if you want to do it right. The MAF becomes a major restriction and your stock computer will nbever be able to read boost, so it is a gamble with respect to tuning. I would go with an aftermarket system like FAST or Accel. As far as the internals, all ARP studded block, 4 bolt splayed mains, forged crank, forged rods, custom forged pistons, ATI superdamper and on and on..... This crap gets downright expensive if you havent noticed. Even at 650rwhp it won't be a cheap thing to pull off. But then noithing worth doing is! Now if you are only shooting for 650rwhp then yes your stock ecu will work. YOu will most likely have to get an aftermarket injector driver and I would use LT-1 EDIT instead of the madz28 thing. YOu will have to upgrade the fuel system obviously, twin intank or one huge external pump, injectors, fuel pressure regulator. The bottom line is to start with the best turbo kit PTK. I would run the PTE-T-70 and not the 76 for your power goals. The 76 would be too much if you arent going over 650. Now if you plan on uprading then by all means get the 76. Then overbuild the S**T out of everything else!!

yeah, the plan is to get the motor running then put the turbo on w/ low psi and slowly turn it up w/ tuning, start at hopefully like 450-550rwhp and work my way up
