9.006@159mph = fastest and quickest LT1!!!!!

Congrats to Chris S. aka Znines for running a 9.006@159mph with his teal 96 LT1 Z/28 yesterday.

I hope that Chris posts up the other 2-3 slips since the MPH was in the 150's for all of them...

He was pretty happy last nite we should have went and got some buffalo wings and some strippers!!!!!!!

Awesome Numbers for the LT1

I seen this car in the GMHTP mag and the detail in this car is awesome! Would love to see it in person. Great job

I don't remember the suspension (I know it is a stock style and he does run the car on a 10.5" tire), but you get the idea.........

I still think he would have been better off with a single 88mm turbo as well as a solid roller cam, but it is very impressive to say the least how fast he is going with an LTx based motor!

chris built the car with the blower before turbos were really becoming popular

i believe its on a 29" x 10.5 Hoosier slick

I'm not sure how much it weighs but if I had to guess by looking at it I'd say anywhere from 3000-3300lbs w/ driver....... That is not exactly very light in my book, but it is on the lighter side for a 4th gen F-body...... That is why I'm still very impressed by George Baxter's full weight convertible Camaro (it weighed 3900lbs if my memory serves me correct) that ran low 9's @155mph with a big old Vortech (X-trim??) supercharged LTx motor..... One thing I like on this car that Chris did is he got rid of that POS optispark and runs a distributor..... Most of the serious racers with a LTx based engine know that is the smartest possible thing you can do.......
