60-1 or t72?
i have an L98 all stock and its getting some boost... street car, daily driven in the summer, and i want to whip some *** with it, i always have people coming up to me and revving their cars and i dont want to race them because i dont want to have my *** handed to me, its slow stock... well i always wanted a turbo car, so how bout a 60-1 or like a T-72, i heard the 60-1 will make it act like a factory turbo car and spool quickly which is a bad *** idea, i want to run on stock engine with like 2 stage boost controller run real low boost for everyday driving like 4-5 lbs then run 6-7 high boost for whipping some ***, intercooled of course, anyone have a better idea on turbos and i dont want some smart *** remark like a T88 or something like tht be realistic guys.. thanks...

On a stock motor a 60-1 will spool very quickly. But will top out around 450rwhp or so. A 72 will make 750-800rwhp and spool slower. With the boost range your wanting to run the 60-1 would be better suited.

I had a 60-1 HiFi and then upgraded to the PT-76. Even with a larger A/R the spool was very similar. It was easily able to make full boost by 2600-2800 Rpm, especially running low boost like 7 psi. I would say a T-76 with a .96 A/R Tangential turbine housing would be real nice on your car, plus when your ready to upgrade, and you WILL, you won't need another turbo. Using a turbo larger than you need won't hurt anything. If your concerned about the spool times run a smaller A/R turbine housing and swap only that in the future, they are only around $150.

A decent 60-1 (T4 p-trim) will actually max much higher ... ~550 rwhp with a f-body M6 driveline (I've even seen 560 with a 60-1 on a supra). They are good turbo for the street ... 550 rwhp on a turbo V8 may sound mild, but it's hard finding someone that will give you much of a race. Boost is *always* there, and the low end torque can't be touched - definitely a good match for something like an L98.

i was definately leaning toward the 60-1, 450rwhp is going to be plenty for now, TRACTION is going to be a MAJOR issue after thatm, and it should pull like a *****... you get the idea... now what could i max that out to without gernading my bottom end like i said previously i was thinking about running a TurboXS 2 stage boost controller and running low boost at like 3-4lbs and high at like 6-7-8lbs. (if it can take it) so that way its still a drivable car and can be driven all day and i like the fact i get 20+ MPG compared to my truck... so when im not boosting it will still be a nice docile drivable car, that gets good milage!

BTW: the 60-1 i was referring to was the non hi-fi with the 4in inlet... incase anyone was speculating
