6 or 8psi on a P1SC??

This is probably an incredibly dumb question, but im not too familiar with superchargers. Im looking into getting ATI's P1SC, but i will be running on my car, which has the stock bottom end, until i can afford to build the motor up. My question is, when i see the P1SC listed on websites and catalogs, it says its boost range is between 10 and 14lbs. Could i get a 6# pulley for it though, so it would be running at 6#'s of boost?? how bout 8? I dont wanna have to run a minimum of 10#'s on my stock bottom end. I just wanna make sure i could run it lower, before i went out and bought one.. thanks guys.

The LT1 kit comes standard with the P600B head unit that can be upgraded to the P-1SC. This one will make 8# of boost on a stock motor and has a single intercooler. The next kit up is the stage II kit with twin highflow intercoolers. It's rated at 10-14#. I don't believe they have a larger pulley option available for this kit so it will product less boost.

Short answer, yes, ATI would love to sell you a 4.5# or 6# pulley

You could start off as low as 8lbs.

Regards,
ATI

In my opinion- start 6psi. Then bump up on a dyno, AFTER all the bugs are worked out. If I had jumped up without finishing what I had started, my motor would have been toast.

Vacuum leaks, tuning, etc... everything had to be worked out as things developed over time.

Also- ditch the FMU and run 36# injectors on a good tune. The FMU is too irradic.
