Over the past few months I have really wanted to put some sort of exhaust on my car. Budget is pretty tight right now and I would have loved to run flat pipe under the k-member(only way to route it) into a mufflex 4in catback. So I rounded up some scrap pipe and decided to see what a single 3in exhaust would do, long story short it felt like it lost 100 horse lol. On the drivers side is where i ran the first single pipe system which is why they don't both go straight, didn't order enough pipe to redo it. I cut a hole in the down pipe and decided to y another 3in pipe into it and run duals out the back. I figured it would be different than any exhaust I have seen on a turbo car. The original plan was to run it over the axle, but I didn't order enough bends. I decided what the heck the lowest point is still under the k-member, so I just ran it under the axle. I have yet to find a spot in my small town with lots of dips that it will hit more than just the occasional scrape if your going to fast.
Well i think it turned out great other than my sh!tty y-pipe which i plan on redoing someday. The tips are only 3in ones that someone gave me and I plan on some 3.5 or 4in. ones someday. It looks pretty different as they are closer together than most f-bodys, and hangs kinda low to allow room for the bigger tips. The pics don't show any of the hangers i built...was pressed for time to get off my friends lift.
It sounds absolutely awesome now, I got it to idle at 750 rpm after some tuning and there is mild chop as the cam is only a 224/224. Going down the interstate at 75-80mph is very quiet despite not running any mufflers. 65mph the is some drone, but not unbearable. WOT it screams like a race car partially because the wastegate is still vented upfront. The car is so much nicer to drive now, don't get me wrong the 4in open dp was cool, but got old after 10miles or so on the highway.
Oh and no noticeable power lose now
And the whole system cost about 200 bucks in pipe, bends, and band clamps.

Sure! I already know the y-pipe is nothing short of a hack job though...i plan on redoing it. I just slapped it together to see if i would even like the way the car would sound. That and the tailpipes need to be higher.

I like the fact that took the initiative and tried it yourself- kudos.
Is there anyway you could run the 3" pipe side by side on the passenger side to the back and split the one off behind the axle? It would clean it up a lot doing it that way and at least you would only be hanging down on the one side. I remember years ago seeing someone somehow managed to massage dual 3" pipes thru the stock routing.

Oh and ream04 I plan on rebuilding the merge. Although it looks like crap, I did take a die grinder to the inside and smoothed everything out before I welded the second pipe on.
The tailpipes hanging low and being closer together than normal is actually growing on me, its so different than every other camaro. I thinking with will look better with some 3.5in tips, which is why I left em low in the first place, to allow for larger tips.
What do you guys think of the sound? I absolutely love it! I'll try to get a burnout video up sometime, so you can hear how it sounds under load.

I'm in Pine Bluffs, tiny little town on I-80 right on the border of Nebraska. Maybe you can help me. I need a dyno tune and the closest shop I have found that deals with alot of turbo cars is in colorado springs. Do you race at douglas? Ive always wanted to go there...been to Julesburg a few times in the old ta.
You are the second person I have seen from Wyoming on this board lol.

Ya we go to Douglas as much as work allows it. Not much of a trip and usually a good time as long as the weather holds out. DA's there are usually outrageous though.
