3bar MAP over 15psi?

Just wondering what the consensus is for 15psi and over. Just been searching around and seems most only use a 2bar. I'm shooting for 18-20psi on a 93. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say the vast majority uses the factory 1 bar.

I never saw that there would be any reason to switch.

I wonder if using the stk ECM vs a stand alone has anything to do w/ switching to 2 or 3bar maps?

I've got the stock pcm, and use the 2 bar setup. I use HP Tuners 2 bar speed density setup. Works really well, although I'm still in the middle of tuning the new setup.

I'm running a P600B with 15lb pulleys. Now I know I won't see 15, but I am using a 2 bar map with the stock ECM. Alvin (PCMforless) did my turning so the MAP can determine boost.

I also have an electromotive DFI with an opti eliminator and it says a 2-bar for up to 12 and a 3-bar for 12+

Question Re: 3bar MAP over 15psi?

Bring this back from the dead. Does anyone know if a voltage regulator is required to run a 3 bar map? Or can a stand alone ECU compensate for it? The guys from alky control say you need one and I never heard of this before in all the thread search's I looked up.

The voltage range is still 0-5v.

Thumbs up Re: 3bar MAP over 15psi?

You'll need the 3 bar map. A F.A.S.T. sytem will work just fine. You will need to change the factory MAP pigtail harness. The 3 bar MAP sensor is slightly different than the stock MAP. Or you can modify the factory pigtail to work with the 3 bar MAP.

Mitch I got a TTA 3 bar map so I'm good w/ that. Just trying to understand why Alky said what they said. Nevertheless I've got 2 3 bar so if I fry one I've got the other.

Thanks Rich and thank you Mitch for ALL your help Mitch.

You won't fry it. I have no idea why Alky said what they said.

Re: 3bar MAP over 15psi?

Julio at Alky means that you need a 5 volt power supply to run his 3 bar map for the alky injection. This one is separate from the one on the intake manifold so it needs power also. The one in the intake gets its 5 volts from the ECM just like all the other sensors.
