1000rwhp

I just got done building my motor. Its a 93 LT1 Solid Roller 385ci with Eagle 4340 Crank, Eage H Beams, Diamond -39cc heads, Total Seal Ap Rings, LE3s, Arp Head studs splayed 4 bolt etc etc.. I am going to purchase the forced inductions turbo kit if they have a turbo big enough that will make 1000rwhp and work with the kit.. What size turbo would I need for 1000rwhp? I would like to run 20-24psi at the track and ruffly 12psi on the street maybe a little less.. Ill have the supporting fuel system etc.. Just curious if a T76 with a 80mm upgrade wheel could do it because it has a 1200 peak hp or would I need to go to a T88?

You should talk to the place where you are going to buy the turbo. They will have all of your answers. Why do you want 1000 rwhp? It will basically be for bragging rights because there is no way that you will ever be able to hook up without a crapload of money into the suspension and then it wont really be a street car, rather a strip car.

There's the beauty of an adjustable wastegate. Turn the **** and fill it up with 110 octane and boom, 9 second slips. Turn it the other way and use 93 and you can drive it to the grocery store with no problems.

Triple digit RWHP, definately bragging rights.

There are a lot more 1,000rwhp smallblocks on the Internet than on the road!

Awesome!

To the original poster, it will take a T88 to make that power at your cubes. T76 is too inefficient to push that high at 385ci. The PTK kit Forced Indusctions sells supports up to a T76 T4 turbo. PTK claims one their customers made 950rwhp with the T76 and ~24psi, but they said it ws a boost spike and could not maintain that psi. The T88 is the way to go. FYI, there is a local 408ci LS1 that runs a T88 T4 setup homemade kit and makes 820rwhp @ 14psi and pum gas. Imagine 20-22psi with racefuel!

So does my Honda, but the 0-60 is more like 2.5 seconds.

I meant a 1 with 3 digits behind it.

Well I think I am going to go ahead and go with the GT47-88 turbo since it has a high peak of 1450hp and I should be able to spool it pretty well with my cubes.. Just gonna have to get a custom kit fabbed up since no one makes a kit..
