$$ required for turbo project

I am beginning to explore turbo for my 94 z28. could someone please detail everything i will need for a turbo system and approx how much its gonna cost me.
Also, how much boost could i safely run on a stock z28?
Also, what are some methods of lowering compression?

If you’re thinking about DIY, then it all comes down to how much work you can do yourself. My twin setup will cost less than half of what CAS wants for their twin kit because 90% of the work is being done by myself.

If you want to get a pre-made kit, PTK would be my suggestion.

I did every single thing myself on my project and here are the prices I've come up with

exhaust manifolds- $250
exhaust piping- $300
wasetgate- $300
turbo- $600
injectors 42#- $300
BOV- $100
FMIC- $420
intercooler piping- $100
oil lines- $60

Here are some things that you're gonna want to change as well

cam- $280
lifters- $250
rockers- $200
pushrods- $50
clutch- $500
LT1 Edit or other fuel ****- $300+

So far that is what I have come up with. I'm sure I'm missing something though.

BTW, stay away from FMUs if possible. Buying bigger injectors is the way to go. Raising the fuel pressure can lead to hot spots in the cylinder which can cause detonation.

Here's a pic of my setup so far

LT1RX7, isn't a FMU necessary unless you go DFI since the stock PCM cannot adjust for boost?

FMU is not required if you get bigger injectors and program the computer with an LT1edit. FMU is a simple cheap fix. If funds are available stay away from FMU. 94z6410 sounds like he's running a stock block so he's only going to want to run around 6psi. Depending on what ratio FMU is installed fuel pressure can go over 100psi. Shooting 100psi of fuel through an injector that was only meant to flow 40psi is asking for trouble.

right now the kits are on sale for $2999 with the turbo, which is way cheaper than any other kit out there aside from a DIY. People have been pulling some awesome numbers out of them too.
