Y Pipe Smog Qustion ?????????
hi guys i have a 94 z28 with k&n intake, elblow, shorty super competition hooker headers w/ y pipe hooker, magniflow high flow cat, flowmaster muffler. i was told since i have a y-pipe it can pass smog???? thanx

If you have the singe cat in the correct (stock) location, and the EGR and AIR connections intact, you should pass a visual. Are the headers CARB-EO certified, with an exemption number tag welded on one of the primaries? That is another requirement in many states/locals.
With regard to a tailpipe test, the use of headers in and of itself does not affect the emissions as long as the EGR is hooked up and working, and the cat is working. But it still requires that the PCM be correctly controlling the A/F ratio.
And as noted in the post above, depends where you live and what kind of visual or tailpipe test they do. Why not fill in the "location" portion of your "profile"?
