What are the best header gaskets/ bolts?
Hey guys, im thinkin abotu gettin a set of used hooker long tubes, and im just wondering what are the best bolts/ gaskets to get, and how much would they run, also they dont come with a y pipe, where could i get one? im guessing just from hooker, but will any other brand fit?
My percys were leaking so I'm going to give earls gaskets a try, and the stage 8 bolts suck, they keep the bolt from completly coming out but don't stop it from loosening it which can cause a leak. Since the breslins aren't avaliable anymore just go with the arp's and check them a couple times after you put in the gaskets.

I personally check my bolts every time I get underneath the car on the passenger side. I have not been too impressed with the mr. gasket "real seal" gaskets. I have had to do a lot of tightening with them.
I say 1 inch arp's all around, with some felpro gaskets. If those gaskets dont work out in the future, you have not lost much $$$. (I had them before, and they lasted well. ) After that I would give earls a try.
hooker is your best bet for the y-pipe.
also, a trick i have found out for putting gaskets on, line them up on the header, and tie some sewing thread around them that way it is nice, thin and keeps them in place good. Then all you do is put them on, once u get ur bolts started, cut the thread and pull it off and wall-ah
