Slip fit header help

Alright so disassembling my pacestter y-pipe from the headers and the catback was a bitch, I did a search and realized where I might've went wrong was u-bolt clamps and not band clamps, since most say slip is easy to disassemble as long as you use band clamps.

So now that I got it disassembled am I basically f'd and need to buy a new y-pipe or when I go to reassemble, just use band clamps and it won't be such a pita to disassemble next time? Or should I convert to 3 bolt flanges?

Hopefully after this I won't be dissassembling ever again, but **** happens and I want to make sure I am not underneath my car kicking and cursing and torching the hell out of my pipes for hours trying to remove them.

The band clamps are working fine for me and as you already know, future disassembly will be a breeze if I ever arrive at that point.

Well my question was did I ruin my y-pipe by using u-bolt clamps or can I just use band clamps on it from now on and I won't run into this problem anymore?
