Question Exhaust Leak

Recently my car has developed a sound underneath it and I believe it has an exhaust leak somewhere near the y-pipe.

How do you go about pinpointing it and fixing it permanently?

Thanks.

How do you have your y-pipe secured to the headers, clamps? If so, an easy start would be to run over the bolts with a ratchet and make sure the clamps are completely tight.

Usually, there'll be a bit of black exhaust soot near any leaks. The other thing you can do is safe raise the car, start it up in Park w/ e-brake, and slide underneath. Run your hand along the tubing carefully about a 1/2 inch off the pipe. If there's a leak, you'll feel it....like someone's blowing on your hand.

Run some seafoam and look for the smoke.
