Removing my cats?
I'm confused, what would be the point of removing the cats just to install catalytic converters again, if that is what you are asking? Generally, as mentioned, people remove the cat and just have a piece of pipe welded in its place. Others, will gut or hollow out the cat(s). Another option is people will go the route of having a high-flow cat installed probably so they can still satisfy emissions regulations. Seeing that you have a dual-cat setup, the cat on the drivers side is a relative pain to get to. I don't know how easy that will be to rig up a piece of pipe for and I don't know if there are many aftermarket cats that will fit those odd dimesions. But once again, as mentioned above, the cats are not robbing you of very much power anyway so it might not even be worth the effort in removing or replacing them.
I replaced both Random Cats due to blow-out from a FI application. Te car rn great with them, but, the Rt side was blown out. So, I welded (2) 2 1/2" straight pipes in place. Changed every thing with the exhaust. Did alot of additional work to quiet it down and flow with a FI application. The Random Cats are a really a good flowing cat in my opinion.
