Quietest Exhaust????

i have new hooker LT headers and a hooker y-pipe, both coated by jet-hot getting ready to go on the car soon. now i need help picking the cat-back to go with it. i have SLP loudmouth on the car now and have had it for 4 or 5 years. I'm over the noise level and want something much much quieter as this is a daily driver. the engine is putting out 402 rwhp and 402 rwtq, so I don't really want restrictive exhaust, but am willing to sacrifice some flow for some peace and quiet. I had planned on ordering the hooker aerochamber catback, but the order fell through, and after listening to some clips online, it sounds like it is still pretty loud. any suggestions? also, not looking to spend an astronomical amount of money

it looks like the dynomax super turbo system is what im looking for...

but it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere with the intermediate pipe that would go between the y-pipe and over the axle to connect to the muffler...anyway to get around this??? i cant use my existing one from my SLP catback because it is made differently

The hooker is almost as loud if not louder then what you already have. I love it but its a little too much when your on it.

the magnaflow is decent at low rpm's, but still sounds great up top. i bought it because it was quiet for daily driving

just ordered the hooker catback the other day....i find it very hard to believe that its louder than SLP loudmouth which has no muffler at all....if i dont like the noise level, im swapping the hooker aerochamber muffler out for a dynomax super turbo and that should be plenty quiet

I got the Borla Pro xs 40474 on Ebay for $175 and a three inch extension pipe from Summit for about $100. This muffler has very little restriction and with long tube Hookers and no cat it is almost as quiet as stock. I did some testing at the track, going through the muffler I only lost 1 MPH over having the cut out open.

Sorry, I don't. I'll should make one, I've been asked that before. I wanted my quiet for two reasons: one, less conspicuous when driving by the law and two, when getting a sticker it doesn't throw up a red flag. If I want it loud, flick the switch for the cut out.

Odd.... when I took a ride with the owner of Mufflex in his Z28, it was way quieter with the SpinTech than mine was with the Series 30 Flowmaster. I was seriously considering it to tone things down. But then I deleted the catback completely.

btw just got my hooker catback and threw it on today....sooooo much quieter than SLP loudmouth....i'll see how i like it as a DD for a few weeks and then decide if i want the Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler...

EDIT: o and mysterybird, lemme know when u get a sound or video clip of ur exhaust...i'm very interested in the sound as i might decide to go with that muffler instead depending on how it sounds
