Pacesetter Long Tubes Into 2.5 Inch True Duals
Pacesetter Long Tubes Into 2.5 Inch True Duals
I wanted some advice on an exhaust setup I hope to be getting soon. I have Pacesetter long tubes with the 3" collectors on them, I think its 3". Anyway, for ground clearance does it hurt if I put 2.5" pipe after the headers, true duals? I was wanting to keep them as small diameter as possible in case I decide to lower it someday to reduce fender gap, but not a huge drop. I was considering the Bullet mufflers to go with it. And my 2nd question, is the 2.5" true duals big enough for the AI 200 cc heads, with a possible 100 shot every once in a while? I have searched but cant quite find the right answer. Oh yeah, there wont be any cats on it!
Thanks for the help.

Re: Pacesetter Long Tubes Into 2.5 Inch True Duals
I cant sit back without this one unanswered, which I have done to a few of my posts. So 3" collecter to 2.5" true dual exhaust w/o cats, wise or not? I dont think I need a 3" dual exhaust, but going from a 3" collector to 2.5" is this ok? AI heads and maybe a 100 shot, in winter which is short in AZ, will the 2.5" suffice? I need your advice fellow Camaro members, thanks!
Re: Pacesetter Long Tubes Into 2.5 Inch True Duals
You don't need a 3" dual exhaust on a car that runs 13.0. If you're planning on 500+ HP in the future, you can always upgrade the exhaust.
Just make sure the reducers have a smooth transition, not a sudden reduction or sharp edge that will cause turbulence and restrict flow.
