o2 sensor question

What im looking to know if there is a certain distance that the o2 sensor has to sit in relation to the cat in order to get a correct reading? Basically what im looking to do is move my current cats futher up stream (Back right behind the collectors) and my post cat o2s will have to stay in there factory position (can move forward or backward up to 6'' but thats it) What i will be doing is installing LT headers with 2.5'' true duals and i would like to add a X in the system but there is only one spot where it would fit without a issue and that is where the factory cats are now placed so they would be replaced for Hi-flow cats right behind the collectors and the X would sit where the factory cats once were. Unfortunally this isnt for my F-body but the vehicle has a SBC but i figured i would ask here to get the best answer. Also Simms are not a option as i don't plan on having a custom tune Thanks for the help guys.

The distance between the new location of the cats and the sensors will be about 12'' apart. Right now the o2's are positioned within 2-4'' behind the cats.
