non stainless exhaust?

non stainless exhaust?

i know stainless is the way to go but since my z is only a summer driver and is in a garage for the winter do you think going with a non stainless system would still rust fast? thanks!

No. Just go Aluminized. Shouldn't be a problem.

Exactly!! Mine sees no winters, very little rain and looks like new after 11 years.

You have to be concerned with rust on the inside of the system just as much, if not more than rust on the outside.

My mild steel system is holding up fine,been on the car about 2 years,car is a daily driver and lives outside all year round.Also has to put up with British weather and road salt .
I just added stainless tips to finish it off.

I imagine that British weather would be a good test. Continuous wet or damp weather can't be good. Although lets hear how it's going in a few more years, after it sees some more salt.

The Camaro will be gone in Feb 2011,so that won't be a problem for me.The Y-pipe and cat converter are stainless.
Got the cat-back for a good price off E-bay,so can't complain .
