Need help ASAP, header install tonight

I just finished my Hooker header install on my 97. Ive got the front 02's plugged in but the ones after the cat. are unplugged cause I have no where to plug them in. Question is, can I just leave these unplugged?? My understanding is its ok but it will throw a code, is this correct.

Yes. It will set a code, but it will not affect operation of the engine.

Im wondering then if the past owner has them programed out cause I drove it about 4 miles and the light hasnt come on yet. I mean I completly left the sensors off the car, not even plugged in. Runs strong now after the headers though.

It take more than 4 miles. Can't remember exactly, but it might be something like 20-30 miles.
