I did a Mufflex. (App... 97ss 383ci D1 Procharg MM6 trans+ Moser) 3 1/2" single cat back Spintech muffler single pipe dump on the left. The Spintech is a chambered muffler, and, you may want to go with another option depending on your application.

The cat back pipe did not fit my Random Y well (stock pipe is longer & OK). I fabbed a transition joint. Also, I had some trouble with their band clamps. The pipes came loose and apart under high boost (PITA). I fixed that with 3/8 threaded rod and 1/2" steel hydraulic tube (welded).

The Mufflex does have a nice kick over the axle with no area restriction. It does get close to the pan-hard bar. Tight with the 3 1/2" system.

Also, the exit tube hanger was quite wimpy. Bent under heat and road jounce loading. Fixed that also.

Now, I have modified it alot including a QTP dump. But, it's OK for a start. For FI go with the 4". Not much room under an F_body for exhaust system with ground clearance.

I have the 3.5" Single on the left system with the Flowmaster 30 series Race Muffler.
It has a much deeper tone then my old 3" SOTL setup.
Installation was pretty straight forward but required a little fabrication work to eliminate all rattles esp. the over the axle pipe.
Heres a couple pics taken directly after install.
System has since been modified and tucked up even more.

If someone asks about a specific product, you can post a link, as long as you do not have a financial or other interest in that business. That's not advertising, that's helping someone out.

I ran the 4" Mufflex catback for a while.... very tight fit over the axle. Actually wedged in against the chassis with no clearance. It was installed by Mufflex, behind a custom Y-pipe with dual CarSound cats. Great setup for a higher HP application. A buddy of mine used the Mufflex 4" on his 9.04-second 30th SS convertible. We both eventually removed the system to save weight, with no apprecialbe gain in HP, so its a pretty free flowing system with the Flowmaster.
