After i installed my longs, my header bolts are becoming loose. I have to tighten them quite abit. I just did today and the noise went away. It sounds like a really bad lifter tick and it's very annoying. Would it be safe to loctite them? What wrench would i need to tighten them?

do not use locktite. just keep tightening them...after a while they will be good, a few days maybe.


Its the expansion of the flange and gasket etc.

Don't use loctite. Use only anti-seize. You have to keep tightening the header bolts after a couple hot and cold cycles for them to finally seat.

Should i tighten them really, really tight or will it snap?

What kind of bolts are you using? I think the torque spec is 30 ft. lb. But its impossible to get a torque wrench on every bolt. What I did was torque the front bolt that I could get to, then I used my box end to get a feel for it, then tightened all the bolts in the ballpark. I ended up getting one of these for more leverage:
