Kooks Headers

I am really interested in buying a new set of Kooks Stainless Lt Headers,no air/egr for my 95Z28. I already have Jet Hot LT and the coating is coming off the collectors. I have been checking for prices and I found WS6store has the lowest for these headers. I am unsure about the size. Please help.

Re: Kooks Headers

I was wondering this also. They have the 1 3x4 and the 1 3x4 to 1 7x8. Other than the obvious size, what difference, if any will there be between the 2? Does one make a little more power than the other?

Re: Kooks Headers

1-3/4" should be adequate for anything from stock to maybe 500HP (flywheel) NA or more. With a big power adder, look to the 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" step headers. The step headers provide high flow capability for the higher HP (S/C and nitrous are looking for big exhaust), and the 1-3/4" 'step' keeps the port velocity higher at lower RPM, to promote scavenging.
