Jet Hot coated Hooker L.T.s with smaller rust spots on them
So my Jet Hot coated Hooker L.T.s have some smaller rust spots starting on them and I have only put around 1,300 miles on them. I did NOT drive the car in the winter and have only driven the car a few times in the rain (less then 5, if it is raining I drive the LeSabre).
Anyway whats the deal? These things are Jet Hot coated too, I didn't think this would be an issue this soon. Is there anything I can do to help with this? It is only starting near the collectors, the primaries are good as new.

just the beginning. Next thing you know all of the coating will have come off. Mine did the same thing.
I had them coated and put them on. Found ome small dots of rust one day only a few months later. Within a year the collectors were completely covered in rust and the coating had come off. Driving on the street in general will kill the JetHot coating. (and my car was only a weekend warrior at the time)
I have since had the coating redone. Only ran the motor a handful of times before I pulled it out for a rebuild. Still not running today so the coating looks good sitting in my garage.

People always tell others to get coated headers to help with rust.
As I've said in other threads. The coating is not worth the extra cash. I have uncoated Macs on my daily driven car and they look great, but I've seen coated headers that look like hell and my macs are older.

I bought uncoated Hookers. I have a buddy at a machine shop that makes all kinds of crap including bearings. In their process of making bearings they have to spary an aluminum coating on the piece. Well I asked him if they could coat my headers with a ceramic coating they have and he told me I should try the aluminum coating. He never did it before but I said why not. So he sprayed my headers with a spray on aluminum coating and it works bad ***! My headers cool off faster then any coated headers I've seen and I've had them for about a year with just a couple LITTLE specs of rust just starting to show. Cost me 90$. Here's a pic of what they looked like...
In the pic you kind of cant tell but it is textured, not a smooth finish, feels kind of like sandpaper.

I got some that were coated b/c of lower under hood temperatures. ProjectZ28 said that his primaries were still fine after a year or so, so that makes me feel better at least, the primaries are what I am concerned the most about.
