headers

ok--this is where I am at. I dont wanna spend 1200 on an exhaust system. I wanna keep what I have and add to it. I have a hooker aerochamber muffler with ss tips,no cat.I can get a good deal on shorty headers, either hooker or eldebrocks, I also want to reuse my msd wires.I know the factory manifolds are tiny.my stall is only 2800. so my car will never be an absolute beast. I just want 12s.if I just add shorties to what I got and later a hot cam kit I should kit 12s right? my exhaust is not 3 inch but 2.5.let me know your thoughts. thanks snareman .sure longtubes are killer but I know my limitations.shorties can give me another 10-15 hp right?

From what I've seen, the Edlebrock's are nice. Believe it or not you will see some added power on the top end, engine stock. Mine pulled a little harder up top when I installed shorties (which are being removed for LT's). This was a pleasant suprise seeing how the LT1's will pull like nobodies business out of the hole and die at 4k. As far as times go, you probably won't see 12's until you do the cam and even better some head work too. Or you could just pull alot of weight out of your car. You can also check stainless works for a higher flow catted Y pipe.
