Exhaust System From headers to exhaust tips

I need help with exhaust cutouts. Info Please.

Exclamation I need help with exhaust cutouts. Info Please.

My 93 z28 just doesn't quite sound loud enough and someone posted i should get cutouts. So i have decided to go with that but i don't that much about them. what kind do i need/ where should it go (right after the header?) should i get an electric one /where can i buy one

The common place is right before the rear axle dump in the intermediate pipe. A 3" cutout is the size you should go with. Check out the supporting vendors, most of them carry manual and electric cutouts.

That is as long as you have an aftermarket catback. You should make a sig with info about your car.

You are only going to need one cutout. Electric would be the way to go so you can open it with the flip of a switch and not have to crawl under the car every time to cap/uncap it as you would with a manual. Although electrics are more expensive than manuals.

Even on a stock exhaust, I used a 3" cutout, I just had the shop build up the welds. I personally haven't seen a cutout in the 2.75" sizing to fit the stock i-pipe.

I second the idea of getting an electric cutout. I had a manual for a while and it sucks have to crawl around capping and uncapping. The electric just makes things so much easier.

You are right. I thought I saw that QTP made 2.75" ones, but they are 2.25" and 2.5".

why do people use two cutouts instead of just one, and also my exhaust guy said he didn't think there was room for a cutout, especially for two cutouts.
