I've seen the prices for such a job drastically vary. I have seen some people have a true dual installed for 300 bucks and upward. I would probably call a few exhaust shops and get some quotes and some ballpark figures.

do yourself a favor and get 2 1/2, it will be cheaper and more than sufficiant. plus more ground clearance and torque.

exactly. i mentioned my shop installed lt's for ~$200 and some people thought that was crazy cheap while i thought it was a little pricey. so many shops, so many prices, there really is no average. how long of an extension you need?

+1 for the 2 1/2, it will be much cheaper to have done, and dual 2 1/2 supports something like 550 hp. Dual 3 is good for 800 I believe. Unless your making crazy horsepower, three inch duals are only good for increasing your E ****.

His question wasn't what size pipe to use....Seeing he is asking how much it will cost to EXTEND the dumped exhaust over the axle, odds are it is already three inche pipe. It wouldn't make much sense to reduce the pipe size midway through the system.

As far as answering the actual question, it is difficult to run pipes over each side of the axle and if you want mandrel bends count on spending Two to Four hundred dollars.

If you check his sig. you will notice that he is not running an ungodly amount of HP. Running 2 1/2 pipe back from the mufflers is not going to hurt anything. To top this off, if he is wondering how much it will cost, don't you think the small diameter will be cheaper in the end?

When I did my duals last summer I paid 400$ for stainless piping, H-pipe and 2 mufflers. This was dumped before the axle however. Price varies with area. I have hardly any exhaust shops that I know of so my hands were tied. However, he did really good work.

You get what you pay for.
