header wrap?

hey i have hooker long tubes on my car, uncoated and they shell out some serious heat. ive had an ongoing problem n trying to fix everything on my car while i have time and a few extra dollars. what i wanna know is can you run header wrap on a street car or is that a no no? im just tired of burning up everything. eventually i wanna just get some more and even considered going back to shorties other alternative is jethot coating but does it knock the heat down that much?

The header wrap keeps all the heat in the headers - enough so that it will overheat the mild steel, cause it to rust, embrittle, crack and destroy the welds.

Cera-metallic coatings, when applied to the inside and outside of the tube, significantly reduce underhood heat and wire burning.

Apply the protective wrap to the part that is getting burned, not to the headers. Consider something like the Taylor woven fiberglass "Fire Sleeves" for wires.

thanks, i knew my good buddy would chime in with some good info when i saw ya online i had made reply to one of your posts on another thread. i guess i just need to scrap up some money and get some more headers n start all over. the lil evac or whatever you call it tube was cut off and over time it developed some pin holes. i got a lil plate welded over em but it still sounds like its leaking. unless its the collector i donno. i used some dead soft gaskets and never got rid of the leak. thanks for the help as always.
sometimes i hate i even messed with my car lol it aint ran right sense
