header recommendations

I'm trying to see if anyone is familiar with the edelbrock TES headers for 95-97 part #66022 ??? they are 409 stainless and ceramic coated ! my question is what does the A I R connections look like ??? I can't find a photo anywhere ! I wanna know if it's the single pipe on each side or the real obnoxious set up with a small tube from each individual pipe ran into 1 pipe on top of each header ! i've seen some great looking edelbrock's but i need to know about this specific part #66022 thanks in advance ! I'm comparing them to a BBK part #1568 they are chrome but not ceramic coated but still have a nice clean look with single A I R tube on each side ! I would LOVE to have the ceramic coated set but not if they have that HUGE A I R system on top of them ! Guide me in guys !!!! ALL comments, advice, photo's etc appreciated !

Re: header recommendations

If you deleted the exhaust air injection system, you could just use some block-off plates if you want to go with the Edelbrock shorty headers.

Re: header recommendations

I had them but the AIR was blocked off (drivers side was installed before I bought the car) with a single weld. When installing the passengers side we noticed that the EGR flange would need to be re-threaded since the headers were used so we blocked that off as well.

KS doesn't have emissions/inspections.

Re: header recommendations

The question he is asking is whether the header for each side has a single large connection directly to the headers for the AIR connection, or whether they have an AIR connection that splits into 4 small tubes, with a runner to each primary. The Edelbrock header pictures show the 4 individual tubes on each side. But I don't think that is accurate. One site showed the LT1 headers with 5 primaries.... go figure.

This is what shows up on Summit for PN 66022, but they aren't even dual-cat headers:

This is what O'Reilly shows for PN 66022 (Viper parts, anyone?):

Obviously, they are not posting pictures of the actual part. I can understand his confusion. Apparently he's in a location that requires emission testing, since there is no other reason to buy the dual-cat headers.

Re: header recommendations

THANKS for the effort and pics Fred ! I think the edelbrock picture you found @ summit may be accurate ! I found those same pics when searching ! Even the 5 primary 1 ! The edelbrock's are discontinued and i can get them to my door for $210 and the BBK's i can get here for $225 ! I'm going w shorties because of clearance issue ,it's a DD and slightly lowered ! I think i'm gonna get the BBK's because of fear of the unknown ! i'd like the ceramic coating but not with those antlers on top ! thanks again ! (I think it's HIGHLY unlikely that nobody on this site runs 1 of these 2 sets !)

Re: header recommendations

If you go with the BBK, get the ceramic. I had the chrome and it was discolored in about 2 minutes.

The first pic Fred posted appears to be the Edelbrock mids- The tubing does look similar to that on the set I had before I cut it off and welded the holes closed. (mine were just painted, not coated.)
