Header opinion

I currently have SLP shorties installed and don't like the fact that their so close to the firewall and air conditioner stuff on the passenger side. I also have some heat wrap around the air conditioning stuff but it's stating to fade where it's close to the header. I've decided to upgrade my cam to a Hotcam setup and will also be going to LT's and a new y-pipe. What LT's out there give you the best fitment in the engine compartment along with sufficient ground clearance?(I have Eibach Pro Springs). I will either go with the Kooks, Hooker or Pacesetter, whatever fits the best....

Thanks in advance

Kooks offer the best ground clearence. They tuck up real tight.

pacesetters are crap in my opinion, there was like a 1" gap between the y-pipe and the driver's side header, so I just cut my losses and bought slp's

I have Pacesetters and Eibachs Pros. Bought the headers because of the good price, and the fact they tuck up nicely under the car. Some have a problem with them hitting on the drivers side under the car. But there are ways to correct this.

I have a set of Kooks stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8 and I love them...You probably don't need the stepped headers, just get the 1 3/4's, but the fit/finish of the Kooks stuff and outstanding...As much of a pain in the *** as it is the do headers on our cars I just went with the best, last header I will ever have to install...

I have had the SLP's and felt the car would "outgro" them, so I bolted up a pair of stepped Kook's. They are easily the nicest headers I've seen for our cars, IMO. But they are pricey.

I have also had Edelbrocks for a short spell on a '94 TA, they looked and seemed no better than the stock manifolds, wouldn't buy them.

I have a set of BBK's currently on a '93 Z28. They are shorty/mid-length and I don't like them or their plug access. So I am opting for a set of Pacesetters for both the long tube design and price - and from comments made by others on this site.

I have a set of non-emissions, 1 3/4" Kooks on the way. I checked out a set of the stepped Kooks on a local car before purchasing. They were coated and looked brand new. I believe they had been on the car for a little over a year. I considered the stepped headers, but the jury seems to be out as to whether they're of any benefit. I'm sure the 1 3/4" will be more than I'll ever need.

The Kooks may not be cheap, but you should never need to buy headers again.

Hookers are good, I have them, fitment is great. I love my Hookers. Priced well, you could probably get them for cheap used like I did.

Pacesetters are pretty good too. Most dont have any issues with them at all. Great value for the money.

Dynatech are pretty good also.

Kooks are good but youll pay out the rear for them.

TPIS are good but cost a bit too.

Kooks 1 3/4 with Kooks Catted Y pipe. You pay more but the benefits are worth it.

I also have the Eibach pro kit on my car. I had Hooker LT's on it before and they hang too low. With the Kooks on my car, I havent hit them once and I can actually enjoy driving my car versus looking for any big dips in the road that could cause the headers to hit the ground.

Kooks it is then! I was going to go with Pacesetters because of the price but what the hell; my SS is worth it And if they tuck up nice that's a bonus. I'm going to stick with my stock 2OTL cat back and get a Kooks ORY.

Now; where's the best place to purchase them??

If you can afford them, go for it. If you can, get a vid when your done. I'd like to see them, and hear what it sounds like with your exhaust. I always did like the look of the 2OTL.
