Yes, you have to disconnect the steering linkage. As for the springs on the heads, just be careful on how you angle the heads in there or put some clean rags over them. As for the angling, I couldn't tell you that much, hard to remember, just go very slow and work them in with ease so you don't scratch the coating.

Since you have a 93 you may want to consider upgrading to heated O2 sensors. Since our cars are unheated it may be hard for it to stay in closed loop with the O2s so far down the line with longtubes. I may do it when I get my exhaust this weekend. Head over to speeddensity.org and search for "heated 02 conversion" to get a schematic to wire them up.
