Going Catless

Well I'm going with LTs, and a Cat-less y-pipe. However, the y-pipe doesn't have 02 bungs welded in for the secondary 02 sensors. Should I get 2 bungs welded in and use the sparkplug non-fouler trick to not throw a code? Or should I just not plug in the sensors and wait until I can my PCM reflashed to not worry about the code?

Thanks
J

Ok you go to autozone or a local parts store, and buy 2 Sparkplug non foulers (18MM). Drill one out with 1/2 drill bit, and screw your 02 sensor into it. Then screw the other non fouler to that, and screw into catless exhaust. It Acts as a shell, and only allows a small bit of air into it and tricks the 02 sensor into reading clean air, and doesnt throw a code.

Not sure if they work with these cars but a buddy had dummy harnesses. Nothing more than a resistor to fool the PCM that it was working.

Your talking about the now "banned" O2 sims... they were a bit more complicated than a "resistor". I suspect you can still find them, even though Casper stopped making them after they were fined $70,000 by the EPA. Try eBay.

Just have them tuned out and you don't have to worry about putting holes in the y-pipe.
