fuel lines melting

how do you guys keep your fuel lines from melting? My lines are getting roasted where they go from metal to plastic.

The easy response would be "keep them away from heat sources". It sounds like your LT's are close enough underneath to hurt them...very bad news. If re-routing the lines is not possible, you may have to make up some shielding. Shield the lines themselves with something like spark plug wire heat shields, then maybe even do a thin metal shield between the header and the lines. You can attach a shield anywhere in that area very easily with some small self tapping screws. Get some thin sheet metal (.040 would do) and bend it up to fit between the LT and the lines. Hopefully you have a least 1"-2" to work with between the lines and the header.

The shield will reflect a significant amount of heat, and will dissipate some more as well. There will be much less heat on the lines side then the header side for sure. A double shield with the walls .5" apart would knock it down considerably more, if you need to.

Thought about one more thing. If your headers are not coated, getting them ceramic coated would help tremendously, but it's not cheap.
