Flat (rectangular) Side Exit Exhaust Tips?! ---
I want to have a custom exhaust built and have it exit BEFORE the rear wheels on the sides. I dont think anything will clear all the bumps, but a flat style tip (rectangular). Anyone know where to get some? Would the stock ones from the rear be flat enough? THANKS ---

I recently saw a Camaro with that, but I wouldn't recommend it. The owner said it caused him to bottom out on just about everything. And by the looks of it, there was only about 2 or 3 inches of ground clearance underneath it.
I suppose if you have big wheels on it and haven't lowered the car, it might be ok though.

stock tips are either 2.5 or 2.25"...
but i agree...it's not just the tips that would cause clearance issues, its the pipes leading to them. the outer edge of the unibody just doesn't have the clearance for such a setup.
true duals and dump it

I was going true duals, but dumping it wont pass inspection ( learned that with my 67 ). They force you to have it on the sides or in the rear.....and the shop I am dealing with told me if I want it out the rear it will "clang" on the rearend/body. Hmmm what to do . BTW 2.5" ---

A local shop here does 3" and can go all the way over the axle on either both sides or both on the passenger side...It can be done and can be done right with no contact going out either side with 3", so 2.5" is doable, too...

Dump em and go to another inspector....one more laxed and will get on his back to get under the car..... look for a foreign guy....they usually dont care..

There are aftermarket tips just like the rectangular Z28 tips.
I agree w/Teke's idea. You should be able to even get some pipes under the axel and out the back pretty cheap too. Bolt them on for inspection or road trips and leave them off when you want.
