dynomax bullet muffler construction???

i was wondering if the bullet muffler has a packing material in it. the website just says that it has a perforated tube inside.

so really my question is that if the bullet muffler has packing it, then what is the difference in a bullet and a glasspack?

summit sells a glasspack that is half the price. looks identical and has identical specs except that the bullet is aluminized and says "perforated tube" and the summit muffler says "glasspack" for the internal construction....

thanks guys,
Jeremy

Not all 'perforated' pipes are the same design... some are definitely more pronounced than others. Dynomax bullets are perforated but not as much as many other bullet type mufflers on the market (at least the ones I've seen). I don't doubt that Dynomax's design intent was to build a very free flowing muffler that would help in meeting maximum dB levels at race tracks.

Summit's 'bullet' is pretty aggressively perforated. Probably doesn't flow as well as the Dynomax but sacrafices flow to lower 'noise'.

Packing materials may vary as well. A 'glasspack' is essentially a muffler with roving fiberglass packing. Then, some better quality mufflers are packed with stainless steel wool.... are those still 'glasspacks'? (rhetorical)
