Cheap alternative to GMMG or stainless works chambered exhaust!

800 bucks for an exhaust is outragous, unless of course its a fully custom made stainless or titanium exhaust system. GMMG exhasut, i have only heard good things about, looks great and the ZL1 supercars sound awsome with that exhasut. i'm asssuming stainless works reputation is excelleant as well but i have never heard much about their chambered set up for fbodies.

personally there had to be a way around spending $800 on a chambered exhaust. Also i wanted somthing different, slightly quiter and less annoying than the SLP centerexit loud mouth on my 94Z. so looked into just chambered mufflers and found stainless works makes a 30in chambered muffler for only 120bucks from summit. great deal compared to the other alternatives. i then bought one and had it installed in place of the loud mouth resonator and have loved the sound ever since. the car sounds different than everyone elses and sound like the ZL1 supercars from GMMG, for under 200 dollars. pics and video soon....

sweet thunder chambered mufflers are around $130/each i believe, and soundclips can be found at ls1sounds.com under true duals

do u have LT headers? If so

summit universal x-pipe kit - 90ish
2 mufflers - 300
exhaust hangers, and misc. clamps - 20
ud have true duals if u can weld it urself, and be a lot cheaper, otherwise id imagine u could have an exhaust shop weld it all up for u for pretty cheap.

130 for their top of the line 304 stanless steel but you dont really NEED something like that, i would just go with the regular stainless and call it a day

I ran sweet thunders behind long tubes headers and turn downs attached to the mufflers.. no x/h pipe. It sounded AMAZING! I plan to run them on the vette as well. Great sound, Great price.

Those mufflers are just glorified over priced glass packs.

You can get glass packs for $30 and have the same sound. Just pay attention to the ID inside the muffler. Many of them neck down 1/4" from what the ID of the pipe is.

Ex 2.5" ID pipe but inside the muffler it'll be 2.25".

The sweet thunders sound much better than glasspacks, although they are nearly the same thing. The regualr 18's are @ $50 each.

I have 2 18" in true duals over the axle. Still don't think they sound as good as the flowmaster 40s did, but prob flow a bit better. The ID of the ST is 2.5, so on 2.5 duals they are ok, but if you run 3" they will bottle neck.
