Catback removal question

Ok, just put in my LTs, and with the y-pipe my LM catback doesn't line up. It ends up hitting the driveshaft. It's not welded, so I can adjust it. Problem is, all the pipes are stuck together and not wanting to come undone. What's the best way to get these things apart? And what about getting it back together? Should I use a pipe expander on the crimp parts? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your install is hitting some speed bumps. Fortunately, I was installing a new catback when I did my headers, so I was able to just cut the old exhaust system off without worrying about leaving it in a reusable condition. The GMMG mated up perfectly with the Kooks Y-Pipe. I really had no idea how that was going to work out beforehand.

I had to have an exhaust shop fab a small offset piece from the bullet to my y-pipe.

Kooks told me to use some WD-40 and a dead blow hammer to get the pipes loose. The only pipe I really need to adjust is the elbow from the resonator to the over axle pipe. It just needs to slide up, then I should be good. Hopefully I'll have Friday off of work so I can get this thing done.

yeah, the over-axle piece is kinda crummy. I had to actually bend it a little up to make the connection.
