Why single dump before the axle... Get an X pipe dumped... Sweet Thunders I hear sound great! Look into the Spintech mufflers. Not a lot of people use them but they do sound good! My buddy had a Spintech CB on his 35th SS. GREAT Classic Muscle car sound at cruise!

Borla is super raspy on LS1 cars, expecially with LTs and ORY...

Don't ask me how I know.

If you're worried about ground clearance just go with a Borla cat-back system, or Magnaflow cat back...The Magnaflow is also stainless and cheaper than the Borla...The nice thing about the Borla is adjustability with the plates, but run wide open its a bit raspy with an LT1...If you're set on a custom single 3" dumped I'd go with the Edelbrock SDT 304s...Thats what I have on my true dual set up now...They flow great, aren't too loud and are only 3 5/8" thick...here's my set up...scroll down the thread for pix...
