Question Borla/Flowmaster and Resonator

I have a 97 Camaro SS with LT's, no cats and a variety of engine upgrades, and am ready to nail down my exhaust. I currently have the stock SS muffler but am planning to upgrade to a Borla or Flowmaster. I am not interested in true duals, but have concerns about the cackle and rasp from the exhaust. Would adding a resonator like the one below from SLP help to kill the rasp and keep the tone and volume of the exhaust? I'm not looking for a classic muscle car sound... I want the car to have a very sporty, performance sound. Any thoughts?

Long tubes with Borla or Flowmaster will sound great with the cat. Once the cat is in there, the cackle is gone.

Sweet thunders are apparently pretty good bullets... FYI..

here's a couple vids of my LS1 Catted LT and open Borla... Just to give an idea.,

No drive-by's yet...

This first vid I think is a good exh sample... It's really quiet at idle... For me at least. But once it's over about 2500 it screams!..

borla cat back and put a dynomax bullet where the cat is. this will flow better and take out the crackle.

Can someone enlighten me to the difference between a bullet muffler and a resonator? If I understand correctly, a resonator will take out any rattle or cackle in the exhaust, but a bullet muffler will actually quiet the tone/volume of the muffler. Is this correct? The reason I ask is that I do not want to quiet the exhaust in the slightest...I only want to remove the cackle, hence my interest in a resonator. Thoughts?

it will take out the crackle i don't know why but it does, it will not quite the exhaust anymore than a resonator and it will be cheaper and easier to do, i have had 3 friends do this and it is the only way to go with borla

Sweet thunders are STICK mufflers, not bullet. They're just glasspacks with a different name for marketing.

I agree, just get a cheap short bullet or if you want it quieter a twister muffler.
