best style of exhaust for longtubes on a 3rd Gen ?

a buddy has a ~90 with a 305, has bought some long tube headers

and a local muffler shop offered to do him up an exhaust at a good price.

what would YOU do if it was yours?

here's what I said:
true duals over the axle glass packs for LOUD (where to put the mufflers?)
true duals with a X pipe. glass packs (where mufflers)

cutouts, true duals, REAL muffler

or, put both headers back into a 3 inch axle, and run a normal muffler.

he gets parts cheap, and he is leaning towards a ~350hp 350,
buying parts and doing a building block approach so that all this stuff fits when his plan is done.

who's got good pics he can take the muffler shop with him?
if he's getting it so cheap, want to make sure it is RIGHT the first time

true duals dumped at the axle...with magnaflow 4x9 mufflers...2.5" pipes...more flow than a 350hp motor needs.

if he wants tips out the back...may as well just do a 3" catback and a good flowing muffler. have a cutout installed before the axle for those "special days".

teke - cool, the diameter was worrying me too.

would you run a cross over pipe (thinking Dr X gas pipe style?)

thinking a crossover helps low end torque?

Either H or X will work.

i think most guys run an X pipe...including myself.

helps boost power by the scavenging effect.

but either the x or h will work
