I sold my SLP 3" dual on on side. Went with a 3 1/2" Mufflex with a Spin Tech muffler. The Mufflex did not fit up to the Random Y very good. Welded an extension on to it. Also, the clamps did not hold the 3 1/2 pipes over the axle, and, @ the Y. So, I made my own clamp with 1/2" Hyd-tube and 3/8 threaded rod (similar to Dyna-flo hardware). ALso, the spin-tech muffler (3 1/2) had alot of back pressure. I ended up making my own 3 1/2" mid pipe with a 3 1/2" qtp cutout. I really flows good, and, can be quiet when needed. Hope this helps. [QUOTE=BTC;4439913]Anyone care to elaborate on who the certain vendors are that can get the Magnaflow for $299.

www.performancepeddler.com Got mine wholesale from their warehouse in Garden City for $250.00. Tell him Steve Roach sent you. He may not remember me. Worth a try anyway.

Does the Magnaflow come with new mounting hardware? How big is the stock exhaust? 2.5"? The Magnaflow, and most of the other aftermarket catbacks, is 3.0", correct?

That 299.00 deal sounded pretty sweet. Oh well.

The stock exhaust is 2.75" stainless? I'm pretty sure mine wasn't stainless.

If it's factory, it's stainless.

I guess I just assumed it wasn't stainless steel because it was rusted like a **** when I took it off.

I just ordered my 93-97lt1 magnaflow catback from EAD performance for $348 shipped. I've been searching extensively and this was the best price I could find. They've got a website if anyone is interested, but they don't list this catback on their site. Another forum member tipped me off on this and told me to call and get a price from them- 586-473-6538.

I disagree,i p/u a 10th and almost 1mph and the fact that it,s 3in. vs 2/34 is better as well. Also the muffler is less restrictive than stk and sounds better(vs stk)imo.

I was thinking about that when I had mine installed, but wouldn't the fact that there is an exhaust "bubble" staying in that y part basically just push the rest of the exhuast around it? Similiar to how a pick up truck gets better mileage with the gate up compared to it being down.
