Any reason why you went 12 point over 6?

I have them also. 12pts because you can grind down 3/8" box wrench and still put it around the entire head of the bolt. I've use those exact bolts for several year now and many header removals and never had a problem. I just put them back in my new motor.

If I were to do it again I would get the Breslin bolts. They have a a spot in the head of the bolts for an allen wrench. Anything that gives you another option for tightening those bolts is like gold in these engines. Just a thought.

Gives you more angles to work with, you really need it in an LT1 engine bay.

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...44888_-1_11539no 1" will work fine. i used the ARP stainless with the 5/16 head. also instead of using the washers supplied with the bolts i bought a package of Mr.Gasket header lock washers

--it is part # 070-400-1110 that i used

But what about the part number 070-400-1210?

Those have the 5/16" head, 1" length and 12 point head, and it's cheaper, wouldn't that be the best combination?

any reason you guys are buying 16 piece kits vs. the 12 piece kit? Do you all have big block heads?

The bbc kit I posted is cheaper, maybe that's a reason. Then you also have some extras just in case.
